What files can I use?
Create templates from Word (.docx), PDF (.pdf), and Excel (.xlsx). Download in the same format. Supporting files can also include PowerPoint, TXT and Markdown.
Will my formatting stay the same?
DocDupe fills locations in your original file. Word keeps its styles and page setup, PDF keeps fixed pages, and Excel keeps cell styles, formulas and print settings. Preview the finished document to check how your new content fits.
What about PDFs without form fields?
You can draw answer areas in blank spaces. Existing page text and images stay fixed. Scanned text is not read with OCR. Use an unsigned, standard PDF without encryption or XFA-only forms.
Do I need AI every time?
No. Filling a saved form with your own answers does not require AI. Use it when you want help finding fields or filling from supporting material.
Do people answering a DocRoute need an account?
No. Their private link opens only their assigned questions. You review the answers before creating the document.
